Pet A&E is there to provide care and veterinary medicine and surgery for pets outside of the normal working hours of the participating practices (our partners). The service provides enormous peace of mind for pet owners. They know that they can be certain that should the need arise their pet will receive the care it deserves. When owners ring they won't be "put off" until the next day - problems will be seen and dealt with early. As we all know early treatment is often far more effective than allowing further problems to develop. Pet A&E is currently a division of VetHospital Ltd, members of which have been providing veterinary care to pets in the Harrogate area since 1988.

Pet A&E is designed to take the cooperation of veterinary practices in the area one stage farther, allowing veterinary surgeons to concentrate on their "day-time" responsibilities for their patients. This will lead to an improvement in veterinary care - by removing the stress of providing emergency cover and reducing the problems of the high level of working hours currently worked by many veterinary surgeons.

The nursing care is provided by either qualified veterinary or student nurses working on a shift system. This means that the nursing team are awake during their working shift and able to provide the level of care and monitoring that your pet deserves. They are also on site 24hours a day, 365 days per year - compare this with leaving your beloved pet in an unattended practice building overnight.
